TUITION ARRANGEMENTS for 2009-2010

(revised 3/11/09)

All parents are required to submit this completed and SIGNED form to the school office by June 30th for the coming academic year.

Tuition for the 2009-2010 school year is $10,475; the monthly amount is $1047.50 paid over 10 months. Incoming students/families for the 2009-2010 school year are to make arrangements by June 30th for automatic payment commencing in July. This can be done on our secure web site connection -- click on "Online Tuition" (in the gold "quicklink" section on the main page). For international tuition rates (students requiring I-20s), please contact Mrs. Lah at lah@clshs.org .

Please note: Payments are to be made in cash, check, or electronic fund transfer (from checking or savings accounts). Sorry, credit or debit cards are not means of payment.

 Pay in Full -- $10,160.75 (by June 30 – 3% discount) by cash, check, or one-time EFT payment from checking or savings account. (Sorry, no credit cards.)

If you pay via EFT, please sign:

_____ Monthly Payments: All payments will be automatically withdrawn from a savings or checking account. Contact our office 7 days prior to a tuition due date to make any change to that month’s automatic payment.

If you elect to lock in and pay for up to three future academic years, please sign:

_____ Prepaid Tuition to Lock in Tuition Rate. With full tuition payment by July 10th of the prior academic year, current tuition rate will be locked. Example: If you paid two full tuition amounts ($10475 x 2) by July 10th 2009, there would be a 3% discount for up front payment (hence, total of $20,635.75), and you would be fully paid for the 2010-11 academic year no matter the tuition increase. Prepayment, with guaranteed tuition fee lock, can occur for up to three future academic years.

Everyone is required to sign as an acknowledgement of agreement:

_____ Late Payment Charge: Delinquent accounts will be assessed a late charge of $30.00 when full payment of current tuition has not been paid in full by the 10th of each month. The school may suspend the student(s) if full payment is not received by the last day of the month. (Please notify the school office of any difficulties.)

_____ Absences: No deduction will be made from the tuition for absences during the school term, regardless of the reason for the absence.

_____ Returned Checks: The parent shall pay a $25.00 charge for all checks returned by the bank unpaid. If this occurs twice, the parent will be required to make all future payments in cash, money order, or cashiers check.

_____ Withdraw from school: If I must withdraw my child, I will give the school two weeks notice. Should I fail to give such notice, I will be liable for an additional month’s tuition. With or without notice, should I withdraw my child, I forfeit any tuition, material fees or family assessments that have been paid. If full or advance tuition as been paid, a prorated refund will be made based on the remaining full months of the standard monthly payment schedule (see above). All school property, including the laptop computer must be returned in good condition. The family is liable for damaged or improperly maintained property. School records will not be released until this issue is settled.

Acknowledgement of the Statement of Faith

I have read CLSHS’s Belief and Practice Statement and acknowledge that Crean Lutheran South High School, in all of its educational and extracurricular settings, operates within this worldview understanding and that I will be supportive and respectful of CLSHS’s commitment to these beliefs, core values, and convictions.

Parent Statement

I give my permission for my child to take part in all school activities, including sports and school-sponsored trips away from the school premises, and absolve the school from liability to me or my child at school or during any school activity.
I understand that the school reserves the right to expel any child who fails to comply with the established regulations and discipline or whose financial obligation remains unpaid after the due date.
I agree to uphold and support the high academic standards of the school by providing a place at home for my child to study and to give my child encouragement in the completion of homework and assignments.
I understand that the standards of CLSHS do not tolerate dishonoring of the Holy Trinity and the Word of God, profanity, obscenity in word or action, disrespect to the personnel of the school or continued disobedience to the established policies of the school.
I agree to authorize the school to employ such discipline as it deems wise, necessary and within reason of the action committed.
Should legal action, for any reason, be taken against Crean Lutheran South High or any employee or agent thereof, on my child’s behalf, CLS will first seek a solution by Christian arbitration. However, should arbitration fail or should the other party persist in legal action and the school or its agent not be found at fault, I agree to pay any attorney fees, court fees, damages or other costs that CLS or its agent should incur to defend itself against such action.

Student/Parent Commitment Statement

Crean Lutheran High South views itself as people forgiven, loved and valued through God’s reconciling activity in Christ Jesus.

Therefore, faculty and staff, along with the students, shall endeavor to assist in the developmental process of each student by:

1. Nurturing spiritual and emotional growth;

2. Equipping in knowledge and skills;

3. Providing social and relational support and training;

4. Promoting healthy physical development.

This process is an educational partnership among students, school, church, home and community.

____Christian Education: We agree to support and cooperate with Lutheran High South-Orange County in its program of Christian education.

____School Policies: We will abide by all policies, rules, and regulations, striving to be a supportive part of the Christian community of students and teachers as we work together in Christ's name.

____Family Life Enrichment Program, “Homework Helper”: As a parent, I agree that I and/or my spouse will strive to attend at least 2 sessions during each school year.

____Christian Life: We agree to partner with CLSHS in “bringing up children in the training and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4) by striving to maintain a home environment where Christ is worshipped and God’s Word is authoritative, by regularly worshipping as a family in a Christian church, and by assuming responsible supervision for events and activities involving other CLSHS students held at our home or off-campus at our child(ren)’s initiative.

____Photo Publicity Release: I/we hereby grant CLSHS permission to use my/our child's photograph, video image, or likeness in any publications, videos, or websites produced by CLSHS or their partners without compensation or fee.

From the CLSHS home page, click on (secure) Online Tuition/Donation, fill out this form with your checking or savings account information. This form will enable a one-time (from $1 to $10,000) or periodic (monthly) automatic donations.

**New Tax Law allows those over 70.5 yrs to exclude from gross income charitable contributions up to $100,000 to Crean Lutheran South. New Law Allows Charitable Contributions Directly From Your IRA to Crean Lutheran South High School. The Pension Protection Act of 2006 allows a person over age 70½ to make charitable contributions directly from his or her IRA (individual retirement account) to Crean Lutheran South High School. The law is only effective for a limited time.
