Technology � According to the wikipedia web site:
“It is very difficult to obtain a precise definition of technology. It is generally accepted that "technology" is more than just a collection of physical products of science. "Technology" is the relationship of society and its tools.”
In God�s Word, we are told that relationships (first, with our Lord, and second, with one another) are to have highest priority. Technology (this �relationship of society and its tools�), with faithful and Christ-honoring stewardship, can enhance our relationships with our Lord and one another.
We at Crean Crean Lutheran South High School are committed to using technology in this manner. All LSH students will receive a laptop, which they will own, to assist them with class assignments and homework. We will be using many of today�s current high tech tools to help our students learn and grow � both in their walk with Christ and in their ability to communicate effectively with one another.
All of our courses will have web sites with syllabi, homework assignments and study aids. Our students, parents, and teachers will be able to view grades, attendance, and course information on-line � at school, from home, or anywhere there is an Internet connection.
We at LSH also know there is more to technology than web sites and laptop computers. We will be using technology as a tool in our instruction of math, English, history, science, theology and the Bible. We will be using technology in our sports programs and clubs. Our teachers will be using technology to enhance classroom learning, not to over-power the class. From podcasts of lectures and guest presenters to videos and movies, from enhancing a particular lesson to student class work being show-cased on electronic bulletin boards, from on-line tests to on-line prayer-rooms, we at LSH strive to have the best possible technology experience and witness to Christ for students, their families, our teachers.
