Greetings from Mr. Steven R Hobus! Christ’s peace to each of you as we prepare for an amazing inaugural year. I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to teach about the wonderful creation that God has made for us. Science is such an awesome example of the power and majesty of our wonderful Creator. I am a proud graduate of Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. (Go Mound Builders)I hold a BA in Biology; I also received my M.Ed. from Southwestern several years later. While attending college I played football, but also began to enjoy a love of drama and was fortunate to have several wonderful roles in some great productions at the College and Community Theatre levels. I am married to Mary, who will be the new Director of Nursing at Concordia University Irvine. We have two older children, Amanda and Andrew who are both in college at Concordia Wisconsin and our son Isaiah who will be starting sixth grade this fall. I have taught for twenty five years and have been at Milwaukee Lutheran High School for the last ten years. I was the AFS coordinator for our foreign exchange program and also served as the Drama Director the last two years. I have also enjoyed coaching football, track and wrestling and girl’s tennis. I received my colloquy in 2001 and I earned my Administrative Certification in 2003 from Concordia Wisconsin. I have several animals that God has given into my care for my classroom use. Chief among them is “Bernice” my twelve foot albino Burmese Python. She is a real sweetheart! I have three Geckos’ whose names I always get confused, a Chilean Rose haired Tarantula named “Rose” (what else?) and a whole lot of guppies. All of these animals stay at school so I can remain happily married. I am so humbled that I am going to have this opportunity to teach you about science and also to learn more about Jesus and how we can share Him with other people.
