Cross Country and Track and Field Welcome to CLS's cross country and track and field home page. We are currently in our third year as a school ('09-'10) and thankful for the Lord's many blessings. We began our third cross country season by taking our second cross country camp up to Bishop, CA. We spent a week up there and grew spiritually and physically. We also prepared for a new aspect to CLS cross country: league competition.
The opportunity to be in a league, specifically the Academy League was a great opportunity but was a little bit like starting over. As a team we learned the ins and outs of being in a league, attending league meets, and competing in our first ever League Finals. Every single athlete did awesome. We focused on being Christ-like examples in our league and made sure everything we did and said would glorify Christ.
We finished the season with several high lights: Matt Romero was 2nd team All-League, while Alexandra Sciarra was the League Finals champion and received 1st team All-League Honors. Dana Spitz also was the League Finals JV champion pulling away in the last 400 meters for the win.
We are thoroughly looking forward to an outstanding spring track and field season. Again, we will continue to compete in the Academy League and with God's help we will make an impact. With God's help we will grow in a plethora of ways and strive toward growing physically and spiritually. CLS athletics constantly strives to build our programs around Christ and "excellence in athletics." The athletic department has created an acronym which stands for who the cross country and track & field teams model ourselves after: Christ. C - Commitment H - Honor R - Responsibility I - Intelligence S - Sacrifice T - Teamwork I would like to direct you to several important links to the right. There is information about both programs, schedules, results, and records! I thank you so much for visiting. In Christ, Tim Brink Updated Spring '10
